The tale of the Blue Turtle

 

 

"A long time ago, a fire raged in the enchanted forest, and the animals ran to each other. Wise owl said we must help others! They need water, food, homes and friends.

 

Many hands make light work, so everyone agreed to do what they could. Of course the birds and the rabbits were the quickest, so they were sent the help those farthest away. When the meeting was almost over, the turtles asked what they could do, because they move so slow. Wise owl said, it's very important to help those closest to us, including strangers, as well as family and friends, because they can help others--and that became the important job of the turtles.

 

Ever since then, the turtles have roamed the earth, helping everyone, because everyone is a friend or family member."

 

Wise Owl said, "It's very important to help family, friends, and strangers, because they can help others." And so helping those closest to us became the important job of the turtles.
